1st Time at the Movies!

2 weeks back, Jagdev and me took Sohan to the cinema. It was his first time. We had been thinking about this for some time now but were not sure if he would enjoy it, so we waited for the right movie to come along. Finally the big day came, selected movie was 'Kungfu Panda'. We planned our trip on a Friday night after work. I had booked 4 tickets the previous day for Sohan, Jagdev, me and my brother Rashvin. So Friday came. Sohan was really excited knowing that he was going somewhere but had no idea where. Movie was scheduled at 9.10pm. Just nice to reach KLCC at about 8.15pm, get the tickets and have a quick dinner before the movie starts.

When we reached there, to our horror, the 'great' me had booked the tickets for Thursday instead of Friday. There were only seat left for the first 4 rows and the movie was scheduled at 9.50pm. I was so dissapointed and decided that we should just go somewhere else, but Jagdev decided that since we were already there and Sohan was all geared up, we should just go ahead and make the best out of it. So, i proceded to purchase the tickets.

We had our dinner at the food court, and with extra time to kill, we then went to Isetan children's area. Sohan was soooo excited to see all the 'Thomas the Train' collection there. We were amazed that he actually knew all the characters by heart, just by looking at the trains! Of course, he insisted on adding on to his collection and would not move from there till we agreed. With us having no choice, he walked away from there with 'Douglas' in his hands. Then, we proceeded to the clothing area to get him a pair of shorts. As we still had time, we went outside to the fountain area. He was really enjoying himself, looking at the fountain, asking lots of questions and amazed at seeing KLCC towers from such a near view.

Finally, it was time for the movie. We went into the cinema and sat in our seats. He was really excited, never before been into a cinema. He asked why aren't the lights switched on and etc. He was so delighted to see such a huge screen! Then, the movie started. He was ok and behaved well. Half the time he was more interested in 'Douglas' rather than the movie though.

The movie ended at about 11.30pm. He was still awake, but slept off in the car on the way back home. All in all, I think it was a wonderful, eventful outing with him that day. He enjoyed himself and so did we. We hope to have more such outings, probably with Nimmerta along but when there is no movie scheduled, of course!
